We met in 1966 for the first time at church.  A few months later Renae’s dad came to pastor Adger COG, where I attended.  It wasn’t long until we were in love and became a couple – she was 11 and I was 14.  Our love still remains strong  - October 13th will be our 33rd wedding anniversary, but over 40 years together.  We have one son, Ken, Jr. who is married to a wonderful lady, Heather (she’s just like our daughter).  I am in management  @ US Steel and Renae is employed by  Zurich NA Insurance.  We do work a lot, however, our fun times primarily consist of playing music in church (since 1966),  enjoying our horses and our 1997 Goldwing 1500 SE.  We have since triked our bike and are still enjoying the ride.  Our vacations & spare time consists of making miles, smiles and memories  – we’ve traveled 48 states and two providences ofCanada since 1997 resulting in over 91,000 safe miles) . We give God the praise for our safety.  Now we ride the wing and play music, too.  WOW – what a “wonderful life”!   We recently won a “unique award” from Chapter T – you should have been at the July meeting to have seen it – got you wondering?  Well, it’s one that every couple should strive to accomplish!

Our first chapter was Chapter J in Tuscaloosa and then along with several of our friends, we decided to start another Chapter closer to home, Chapter T.  We are charter members of Chapter T, we were Sec./Treas. for several years and Chapter “Couple of the Year” in 2000.  GWRRA is just another area in our life where we have met so many wonderful people and made many new friends.  If we have learned anything about wingers – they ride to eat and eat to ride.  They are also friends for life.

We feel honored to be featured in the newsletter and hope that you enjoy your wing as much as we do.
